Following in his brother’s footsteps, Wilphane Jean is a painter. It is his occupation, not a hobby. “It is very important for me to make my living as an artist,” Wilphane says. In the tradition of Haitian artists, Wilphane’s acrylic paintings on canvas reflect Haitian life, the markets, the food, the people. His pieces are signed “Wilphane” and “Haiti.” One is easily transported to the Caribbean when surrounded by his work. |
